What does the "Not ready to connect" Agent message mean?

You may have encountered a message that states "Not ready to connect" while attempting to register or connect your Agent. This is normal behavior considering the way the Agent's provisioning process works.

To maximize efficiency, the Agents do not maintain consistent connectivity to the remote servers. Instead, they periodically call back to the server to determine if whether or not they need to allow remote access.

Remote access is only granted when an assessment is getting ready to kick off. After the assessment is completed, the Agent goes back to a periodic heartbeat phase and does not connect back until the next assessment is beginning soon.
