vPenTest release notes: August 26, 2025
Our latest release includes a new feature, enhancements, and fixes.
New feature
Agent Notification settings
A new feature has been added to the assessment scheduling wizard, allowing users to subscribe to email notifications when an agent goes online or offline during an internal assessment. This feature helps customers monitor agent connectivity in real time, ensuring assessments run smoothly and issues are promptly addressed.
Agent Notifications section
-
Step 6 (Notifications) of the scheduling wizard now includes an Agent Notifications section for internal assessments that require an agent.
-
Users can opt in to receive email alerts when the agent’s connection status changes (online/offline) while the assessment is running.
-
Notifications are only sent if the assessment is in progress and the agent is in use; no emails are sent after the assessment is completed or if the agent is no longer needed.
-
The summary step now displays the agent notification subscription status and related changes.
Enhancements
In-app announcements
The Announcements widget now displays the most recent announcement at the top. This improves visibility and ensures users see the latest updates first when clicking the bell icon in the profile menu bar.
Terminology
To align terminology across all Kaseya modules for a unified user experience, we updated the term Global Options to Global Settings and Help Center to Knowledge Base.
Per client changes
For MSP partners on our legacy per client licensing model, if a subscription is assigned to an organization, you can no longer delete or change the name of that organization. This does not affect organizations without a subscription assigned.
Fixes
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| KaseyaOne |
Resolved an issue affecting the EMEA instance (emea.app.vpentest.io) where enabling the KaseyaOne login option caused the vPenTest app loader and icon in the KaseyaOne portal to incorrectly redirect users to the US region (app.vpentest.io) instead of the EMEA region. Additionally, the old login option from the US region was not removed, resulting in two vPenTest icons both pointing to the wrong region.
|
| Internal Agents | Fixed a bug on the Internal Agents page that caused the status indicator colors to display incorrectly. Online agents were shown as red and offline agents as green. They now display with the correct colors. |
| Organization | On the Organization page, companies now correctly show their next scheduled assessment date. If no assessment is scheduled—or if the last one has already passed—the table will display Schedule an Assessment. Previously, the table showed the latest completed assessment, which caused confusion since this view is only meant to display upcoming assessments. |
