vPenTest release notes: July 28, 2026

This release includes new features, an enhancement, bug fixes, and security improvements.

New features

Demo organizations

MSP partners can now create a branded demo organization directly from the portal to generate sample reports for prospect presentations. Any admin belonging to an MSP partner with a custom brand configured can trigger creation. The demo organization is automatically seeded with three realistic assessments: an external network penetration test, an internal network penetration test (with Vulscan), and a prospect test. All three reports are generated automatically at creation time and inherit the partner's brand, including logo and colors, so partners receive presentation-ready materials immediately.

Refer to Creating a demo organization in Creating and managing organizations.

Generic agent registration domain

A new generic agent registration domain, registration.pentestagent.cloud, is now available. Partners can provide this URL to end customers for agent registration and allowlisting, preventing exposure of the underlying vPenTest platform.

Enhancement

Assessments page columns reordered for organization users

The column order on the Assessments page for organization users has been updated to lead with the most informative fields (Name, Phase, Started On, and then Type), making it easier to identify assessments at a glance.

Fixes

  • Scheduled external penetration test details now load successfully.
  • An issue that caused MFA codes to be rejected when attempting to log back in to the portal after being automatically logged out due to session timeout has been resolved.
  • An issue that caused the AI Enhanced Reporting feature to produce inaccurate results has been resolved.
  • When scheduling assessments, the UI no longer displays incorrect scan times that do not match the selected settings.
